Events

We believe that good youthwork can happen in all manner of places and times. Big is not necessarily better, and sometimes the most profound work happens in small groups. However we also know that there are some things that are difficult to do, even in the largest of parishes. Using the excuse of the Cathedral’s golden jubilee we tried out the idea of a large scale diocesan youth event, to compliment the work done in parishes. Well the Fuse went with a bang. We had 750 people, one Cathedral, 2 bishops, 2 inflatables and 2000 glow sticks. We had a blast. The event might be over, and if you were there we hope that you had a good time. We hope that the conversation has only just begun. Maybe you had never seen a cathedral in that light before (not many had – even taking all the chairs out is very unusual!) or maybe you had never seen God in that light before. (After all – who can forget that the celebration was all about Him?) The plan is to do another diocesan youth event in 2013 – dates and details will be announced in due course!
